
NASCAR’s First Electric Pace Car Ford Focus Revealed [PHOTOS]
Ford unveiled the 2012 Focus Electric that is going to be at the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup event, becoming the first all-electric car ever to serve as a pace car.
Two vehicles were revealed Wednesday at the Virginia State Capitol. Eric Kuehn, chief nameplate engineer of Ford Global Electrified Programs, Mke Lynch, NASCAR’s managing director of Green Innovation, and Bill Bolling, Virginia Lt. Gov. were involved in the unveiling ceremony.
“It will be a special moment for NASCAR fans across the country, Virginians, and the Ford family on Saturday night when the Focus Electric completes its first lap as the official pace car for the Capital City 400,” said Kuehn.
