Mercedes-Benz is reportedly working on a new version of the C-Class that will fill the gap between the C400 and the upcoming C63 AMG. If the rumors are correct, a new C450 AMG Sport model is currently in the works that will bridge the horsepower gap between the 329-hp C400 and the 450+ horsepower C63 AMG.
According to Autocar, the performance-oriented C450 AMG Sport is powered by an upgraded version of the C400's 3.0L engine, which will have somewhere around 367 horsepower. The C450 AMG Sport will also offer all-wheel-drive as an option and it will also get a bunch of upgrades from the AMG parts bin like an aero kit, AMG alloy wheels, and AMG-badged interior.
The C450 AMG Sport is expected to arrive sometime next year and will go head to head with the 333-hp Audi S4 and the upcoming M Performance 3-Series. If you're still waiting eagerly for news about the C63 AMG, it's expected that Mercedes-Benz will take the covers off sometime later this year.
