Marc Marquez is sitting in his third consecutive MotoGP pole at the Argentina Grand Prix. However, the Repsol Honda rider is far from happy. Marc Marquez set the fastest lap at the Argentina Termas de Rio Honda circuit with a 1:37.683s, a huge 0.724s ahead of Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo, who will sit second on the front row. Desptie the performance, Marquez is concerned about the decision to use the hardest option front and medium rear Bridgestone tire combination.

“Today I really felt good on the bike and I am happy to have taken pole position. In the morning and in FP4, we worked a lot with the used tyre and this afternoon we obviously focused on qualifying,” he said.

“I put in a very good lap and I think that tomorrow it will be interesting to see which tyre will be required for the race, because there are various options for both the front and the rear - it is going to be a difficult choice.

“One of the keys for the race will be tyre management, in order to try to get to the end with optimal grip, which will allow us to make the difference," he added.

“Honestly yesterday I expected that the grip would be a little bit better today and that we would be a little bit faster in qualifying, but the grip was quite similar.

"Anyway I think 1m 37 is quite fast but tomorrow is the most important. We still need to make a decision for the front and rear tyres, which will be important. We will also try some things in Warm-up to improve our corner entry," said Marquez.

"The race will be long because I think everybody is struggling a little bit with the life of the tyres and we will try to manage it well.”
