My, how time passes while waiting for review footage from an incredibly fast car. It seems like only hours ago we reported of a leak of Fiorano footage ahead of the press embargo on the LaFerrari. Well, that's because it was only hours ago.
Today, it is officially April 30, 2014, which means the press embargo has been lifted for some, and we now have footage of EVO Magazine driving the LaFerrari at Fiorano. The best part is, in this video there are words to go along with with its explosive engine soundtrack, so we can get a better idea of what's on the mind of the journalist as he rounds the corner in the completed supercar.
We already get the feeling EVO kind of likes the supercar by the title of the video, “the greatest Ferrari ever?” However, then again... the question mark leaves you to wonder what their hesitation is? I mean, the car is essentially a 789 horsepower V-12 beast that redlines at 9500 rpm. It features a supplementary full-time electric motor that has been given the simple task to fill in any gaps left by the massive gas engine.
As the two different sources of mobility cooperate with each other to create power for the LaFerrari, it must be comforting to know that at no time will there ever be anything less than 950 horsepower and 750 ft-lbs of torque at your disposal. Well, either comforting; or perhaps downright scary. The video opens with some nice shots of the supercar pouncing down on a twisty road.
When it finally arrives at its destination, the Fiorano track, the narrator of this video says eleven words that let you know things are about to get real.
“We are free to drive LaFerrari as fast as we dare”:
