Nintendo and their upcoming Mario Kart 8 has been teasing us for awhile now. However, we haven't actually been given a full introduction to what's new, including its anti-gravity mode, new tracks, power horn, boomerang, and crazy eights—until now.

The video below offers some details on what we can expect from the new gameplay in Mario Kart 8. One of the biggest news will be its anti-gravity racing, which will allows a kart to travel on virtually any surface in the game, including walls and waterfalls. During anti-gravity mode, racers will also be welcomed to aggressively bump into each other, and instead of slowing down as is typical of most racing games, it will actually give both players a burst of power.

There will also be a number of items that can be used to knock an opponent out of the lead, including a Super Horn, Boomerang, and Crazy Eights. The Super Horn will be used to disorient opponents, while the boomerang will offer a clever way to knock them off balance. The crazy eights is an eight item combination that can be earned by players, enabling them to use all eight items, one by one, against any opponent.

Overall, the game looks to have a lot of fun new features, including a few old favorites. There will be a total of 30 racers to choose from, with a few familiar faces like Legend of Zelda and Pikmin 3. The huge track list offers a lot of variation, including a Mushroom Cup, Lightning Cup, and Battle Mode Courses. The game will be released on Friday, May 30, 2014, and from the look of the video below, it has been well worth the wait.
