Even though Porsche just took the wraps off the 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS two months ago, it's being reported that an even hotter Cayman GT4 is in the works. If you want an even more powerful Cayman, the Cayman GT4 may answer your prayers with a 911 GT3-derived PDK transmission and a hybrid turbocharged engine.

The Cayman GT4 will pack more power than the 330 horsepower Cayman GTS, but it isn't known yet what engine will power it. Porsche could capitalize on the success of the 919 hybrid with a four-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain for the Cayman GT4 or it could use something simpler like a hybrid six-cylinder engine. Sadly according to Motor Trend, we will have to wait about three years for the GT4, which will reportedly have a price tag around $125,000. Interestingly if that pricing is true, the $125k Cayman GT4 will essentially be the same price as the current 911 GT3, which starts at $130,400.

If you're hoping that Porsche will apply the gains from the Cayman GT4 to the Boxster, there's a chance. The Boxster version will likely be dubbed the Boxster RS Spyder.
