Since its last re-design in 2015, the Ford Mustang has been selling like a hot potato. And now three years after, the Mustang is getting another makeover. For Ford, it is one of the most important car lines as it is one of the best-selling models aside from the F-150.
Auto Trends reports that the 2018 Ford Mustang will be reviving the Mach 1 brand. The edition was first introduced by Ford for its 1969 Mustang. It is, however, expected to last a year or two at the most. The Mach 1 edition is expected to be positioned between the Mustang GT and Shelby GT350. It has an additional 30 BHP compared to the standard version.
Car Advice reveals that the 2018 Ford Mustang will get a new front fascia. The updated pony car will also reportedly offer a 10-speed automatic transmission option. The current Mustang comes in a 6-speed manual as standard and a 6-speed automatic as an option.
In Australia, the Mustang will come with two engine options: a base model with a 233kW/432Nm 2.3 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a top-spec GT model offering a naturally aspirated 303kW/525Nm 5.0-liter V8. The current 3.7-liter V6 engine in the US will not be sold in the Australian market.
Spy photos have revealed that the 2018 Ford Mustang will come with a large front splitter and a rear wing to the deck. It will also feature a quad exhaust with restyled rear diffuser, revised front end which may include lighting, grille, and bumper. Other upgrades include a beefier rear axle.
Since 2015, the Ford Mustang has been one of the hot selling cars. Auto Guide reveals that the 2018 Ford Mustang will be launched in 2019 or 2020. Pricing of the standard Mustang is $41,000 and the price of the new car may have a price tag of $45,000.
