Over the last couple of years, the Shanghai Motor Show has grown to become one of the biggest and highly anticipated motor industry events. This year, considering that the said event is getting nearer, a number of car enthusiasts are already expecting to see some big reveals from giant automakers, just as at Geneva, Tokyo and New York. While a number of Western brands look to establish market share in China, the country is then considered to gradually emerge as a dominant and vital part on the global scene.

According to Auto Express, with China being a former small-scale player, the current boom of the Chinese car market just means that the show's importance has proved that it has grown significantly. Furthermore, various manufacturers are also investing billions of their resources into models that are aimed at the Asian market.That said, international automakers such as Mercedes, Citroen, BMW and Skoda all have their new cars lined up for the show, alongside with some growing Chinese marques.
Meanwhile, although the official press days are scheduled on April 19-20, it is also being expected that majority of the show's exhibits will be revealed during these days. However, Auto Shanghai 2017, or the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, will allegedly be opened to the public between April 21 and April 28, 2017.
Additionally, as per Car Advice, the auto show is apparently set to feature a number of production models from different brands, though some of them has not been confirmed yet. Models like the BMW M4 CS, Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan and the VLF Force 1 V10 roadster are just some of the unconfirmed models but have already been teased before. On the other hand, the Citroen C5 Aircross, Lynk & Co 01, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift, Mini Countryman S E Cooper All4 are some of the currently confirmed models that will be seen.
