Being one of the much anticipated titles in development, a Marvel executive may have indirectly confirmed the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man game. That said, an alleged video of Marvel Digital Media vice president and executive editor Ryan Penagos reveals that the PS4 Spider-Man game will be out this year. Additionally, Penagos was also quoted to have said that a lot is in store for Marvel games in 2017. With Spider-Man's arrival to PlayStation 4 and Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite set to be launched in Xbox One, PS4, and PC, the company is truly set to a greater path.

The PS4-Exclusive Spiderman Game

According to Digital Trends, the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game that is currently being developed was announced during Sony's 2016 E3 press conference held last year. As of the press time, not much details has been confirmed just yet regarding the PS4 game beyond what's seen in the teaser video. However, although the video seems to be some sort of an official Marvel stream, it still remains unclear exactly where the video came from, or how old the clip is. Thus, until Marvel confirms it, everything appears to be mere speculations.

Meanwhile, as per Game Spot, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have recently reached an agreement for "Spider-Man: Homecoming", a new movie which is set to hit cinemas in July. That said, although Insomniac's game isn't tied into the movie, but if the speculations about the PS4 exclusive is confirmed, Insomniac will definitely benefit from it.

On the other hand, "Spider-Man", being the alleged working title for the PlayStation 4 game, is regarded as the first licensed game Insomniac has ever made. Ultimately, in all fairness to Insomniac Games, and based on Penagos supposed statement, the game developer didn't confirm the game's release within 2017 window.
