An exciting new model of the SsangYong Rexton is a large SUV from Korea's 4x4 specialist with a new family look that would be part of upcoming models, SsangYong says.
The SsangYong Rexton is expected to beat its competitors Hyundai Santa Fe on space, and the Ford Edge on the price, equipment as well as its ability to tow. Called Y400 internally, SsangYong Rexton was previously previewed as the LIV-2 concept car. The latest Rexton sports a rather rugged appearance due to its 20-inch wheels as well as chunky rear quarter design. They make it look rather like the Stavic MPV, according to BangkokPost.
The Rexton's body-on-frame chassis exhibits strong off-road capability. Still, its front double wishbone and rear multi-link suspension will improve its toughness on road.
The SsangYong Rexton is the company's biggest SUV. Hence, it is important to its maker. Soon it will get an improved look after the cabin gets a few materials that enhance its appearance. As its interiors have been improved, its length of 4,850mm length is expanded by 130mm, the width of 1,920mm increases by 50mm and the 2,865mm wheelbase becomes wider by 45mm. The dimensions are expected to improve towing ability, according to Ssangyonggb.
The fascia of the SsangYong Rexton can accommodate a 9.2-inch infotainment screen. That will get a link with Apple or Android system. Other safety features comprise nine airbags. Autonomous emergency braking, lane change assist, blind spot warning, rear traffic cross alert and all-round view monitor are also part of the collection.
Mercedes-Benz SsangYong also mentions a couple of turbocharged engines. But their outputs are not mentioned. These include a 2.2-litre diesel. It is linked to seven-speed automatic from Mercedes-Benz and 2.0-litre petrol variation coupled to a six-speeder from Aisin. The model is expected to be in the Korean showrooms in mid-2017 and then the other international markets by the time 2017 is over. The SsangYong Rexton will be priced at $28876.700 USD.
