Volvo tapped Jean-Claude Van Damme to help the Swedish brand demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering. According to Volvo, the advanced system that is found in the Volvo FM truck is the only technology of its kind.

So what happens when you ask one of the most iconic martial arts action heroes on Earth to do a commercial? Splits, naturally. "What you see is a body crafted to perfection," said Van Damme. "A pair of legs engineered to defy the laws of physics. And a mindset to master the most epic of splits."

Mr. JCVD sat with Volvo Trucks technician Jan-Inge Svensson to go over the day's agenda when Van Damme learned that he will be standing on the side mirrors of two trucks. As the trucks travel backwards, no less. Finally, the Trucks will gradually widen the distance from one another until Van Damme performs his famous epic split.

The Volvo truck commercial, titled "The Epic Split," was shot at a closed landing field in Spain at sunrise. Obviously, the crew only had one shot at this. The one-take commercial was directed by Andreas Nilsson. The strangely appropriate soundtrack is Irish singer Enya's "Only Time."

Without further ado, watch the incredibly awesome "The Epic Split" commercial demonstrating legs of steel and Volvo Dynamic Steering in the video below!
