The Subaru Cross Sport Design Concept debuts at the Tokyo Motor Show. We knew Subaru had a special concept car up its sleeve but we surely were not prepared for this.

The Subaru Cross Sport Design Concept has striking Subaru BRZ coupe resemblances and it would be unreasonable to assume that the Cross Sport Desgin Concept shares similar architecture as well. That said, the Subaru Cross Sport Design concept is everything the BRZ isn't!

The Subaru Cross Sport Design Concept is essentially a raised BRZ crossover transformed into the trendy shooting brake design study. Shooting brakes are marked by their long sports car hoods combined with a practical rear hatch. The mix suggests all the Subaru BRZ delight combined with better ground clearance and significantly improved cargo space for practicality.

According to initial details, the Subaru Cross Sport Design Concept is 4300 mm long, or just 60 mm longer than a standard Subaru BRZ coupe. What's more, Subaru says the Cross Sport Design Concept weighs about 1250 kg, about the same as the BRZ as well.

Subaru has yet to divulge a lot of information on the Subaru Cross Sport Design Concept. Stay tuned as we learn more during our Tokyo Motor Show coverage.
